Reproductive Psychiatry Approaches to Infertility, Perinatal Loss, and Pregnancy After Loss

Emily Dossett, MD

About This Webinar

Pregnancy and infant loss can have profound psychological and emotional impacts, and navigating a subsequent pregnancy may bring additional challenges related to grief, anxiety, trauma, and uncertainty. This webinar explores the role of reproductive psychiatry in supporting individuals experiencing perinatal loss and pregnancy after loss, with attention to recognizing and treating mental health concerns that may arise throughout these experiences.

Participants will examine common psychiatric presentations, considerations for assessment and treatment, and the role of psychotherapy, medication management, and collaborative care. Emphasis will be placed on practical strategies for identifying when additional psychiatric support may be beneficial, navigating treatment decisions during pregnancy, and providing compassionate, individualized care that acknowledges both grief and the complexities of pregnancy after loss.
