Built Through Partnership

The National Perinatal Loss Collaborative is a nonprofit initiative created through a partnership between Return to Zero: Hope and Jane's Room, two 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations working together to build a more connected, compassionate approach to perinatal bereavement care by bridging hospital systems, community-based support, and lived experience.

Return to Zero: Hope

Return to Zero: Hope (RTZ) is a national leader in pregnancy and infant loss support, education, and advocacy, reaching families and providers across the country. RTZ owns and administers the NPLC website and supports the Collaborative's education, resources, and community-based initiatives.

Jane’s Room

Jane's Room partners with hospitals to create dedicated spaces of respite for families experiencing loss while advancing compassionate, family-centered bereavement care through system-level change.

Together

Together, we are building a national learning community that connects providers, strengthens systems, and improves bereavement care for families across the country.

You are not alone in this work

Providers caring for families after pregnancy and infant loss often navigate this work with limited training, few resources, and little opportunity to connect with others who understand its unique challenges.

The National Perinatal Loss Collaborative was created to bridge those gaps by bringing together providers, hospitals, and community organizations committed to improving bereavement care through shared learning, collaboration, and support.

Compassion

Supporting grieving families requires supporting the people who care for them. We promote reflection, resilience, and provider well-being while honoring the emotional impact of this work.

Our Values

Excellence

Families deserve compassionate, evidence-informed care. We are committed to advancing knowledge, skills, and confidence through ongoing education, training, and professional growth.

Equity

Every family deserves access to high-quality bereavement care, regardless of geography, identity, culture, language, or resources. We strive to reduce disparities and improve access to support, education, and best practices.

Community & Connection

Perinatal bereavement care should never be practiced in isolation. We foster meaningful relationships among providers, hospitals, and communities to create a national network of shared learning, support, and belonging.
