Finding the Words: Supporting Families Through TFMR: Communication, Compassion, and Care Before, During, and After
Julie Bindeman, PsyD
About This Webinar
Ending a wanted pregnancy (TFMR) can involve multiple layers of trauma that extend beyond the loss itself. This webinar takes a deeper look at the traumatic aspects of TFMR and how trauma can affect the nervous system, emotional well-being, and the healing process. Trauma is more than being "trauma-informed"; it has actual psychological and physiological effects that practitioners need to understand.
Participants will explore how trauma shows up in the nervous system and how trauma-focused approaches can support healing. Emphasis will be placed on understanding that the goal of trauma therapy is not to forget the experience, but to help individuals process traumatic responses so that remembering the experience is no longer as distressing.
