Perinatal Bereavement Care in Latino Communities: Breaking Cultural, Systemic, and Emotional Barriers

Angelica Quezada, MSW, LCSW, PMH-C, RPL-C, IPPE-C

About This Webinar

Perinatal loss is a deeply personal experience, and how a person grieves is shaped by culture, family, social expectations, and whether they were met with compassion. For many Latino individuals and families, perinatal loss can come with extra layers: stigma, language barriers, systemic inequities, and a lack of support that fits their needs.

This presentation explores the cultural, systemic, and emotional barriers that shape how Latino families experience, express, and move through perinatal grief. Using clinical examples and practical communication strategies, participants will leave with concrete ways to offer more inclusive, compassionate bereavement care.
